Hi, I was wondering, is there a way that you can install Windows 7 using Jaws or Window Eyes so that it can talk you through the installation? If so, how would you do that?
In other words, how could you make it so that Jaws or Window Eyes could talk to you while you're in the process of installing Windows 7?
It is an OS and screen readers need the OS to work, so no go on that one. Creating a boot disc would be maybe an option, but if you had that together you'd not post the question, so duh! Smile. Get some help, treat them to lunch and enjoy it after. Smile.
Um, you can't do that when doing a clean install. I can, tell you what you need to do if you like. Once you get the system to where it has rebooted once, you can then use narrator to finish up the install process.
Hmmm, so I take it that it's best to get sighted help, then?
Hi Michael,
You could do a clean install which I prefer personally as it doesn't save the folder containing the previous operating system which would then give you more space.
However if you'd like to keep that folder you could, in both cases use what they call an answer file which would provide the information that setup needs in order to complete.
If your going to do any install of it from boot yeah you will need sighted assistance, at least until the system reboots and you can pull up narrator to help you through the rest.
Does anyone find it ironic that before I posted this, This bored topic had seven posts?
Yes best to get sighted help. The install goes smoother, and you will enjoy that lunch better specially if you helper is female, and someone you enjoy lunch with. Smile. Take the easy road.
